In September and October Bag to the Future in collaboration with schools, sports clubs, adults and children, more than 20,000 backpacks with toys were collected for children on the run. These have been shipped to Lesbos where they are distributed with care and love by volunteers and received with great joy.
Our office was a collection point, where many parents and Nannies from Amsternannies brought very sweet and good backpacks.
The success of the campaign and the enthusiasm and gratitude of the children is overwhelming. That is why they have decided to repeat the Bag To the Future campaign so that everyone can participate and help a peer on the run. We will leave for Lesbos again at the end of April / beginning of May and hope to be able to make many children happy with a backpack.
This time too, Amsternannies is helping to raise money for Bag to the Future!
We would like to ask you if you would like to fill good backpacks with good and fun items that will make the children happy. For example, fun games that the children can play together, balls, coloring pencils + coloring book, cars, etc. (no old or broken/half games). In the attachment is a photo of an example backpack.
And do you have a well-functioning buggy at home that you no longer need? Then we can make people very happy with that!!
On Saturday 2 and Saturday 9 April between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM you can hand in the bags or Buggy at our office, at Tweede Jan Steenstraat 23hs in de Pijp. Then we will ensure that they end up in the right place!
