Information for Nannies

VThrough Amsternannies you come into contact with the nicest families in Amsterdam. You can babysit for a fixed (afternoon) day or on a more flexible basis.

We make a distinction between Nannies and Premium Nannies, where the Premium Nannies have followed one or more training courses with us and can commit to a fixed day with a family for at least four months.

Premium or not; In both cases you have a lot of experience in babysitting children of different ages. You are proactive, flexible and enjoy helping with housework, such as shopping, cooking and ensuring that the house is tidy at the end of the day.
While babysitting, you enjoy engaging in educational and age-related activities with the children.

  • As a Nanny you can babysit on a flexible or permanent basis; occasionally an evening and (mid) day or weekly at a fixed time.

  • To become a Premium Nanny, you follow one or more trainings with us and you can commit to a permanent family for at least 4 months. Your hourly rate is also higher, namely €15.00 - €20.00 per hour.

  • If you really have a lot of experience with newborn babies, you can also work with us as a Maternity Nanny or Night Nanny.

  • In addition, as a nanny you can also babysit at various events or go on holiday with families.

Payment to you as Nanny

You work at Amsternannies via the Home Services Regulations.
You do not have an employment contract with us. You can find more information about the Scheme here find.

Nanny Academy

WDo you also want to work as a Premium Nanny and are you available for a family for at least 4 months? Then follow our Nanny Academy and get a higher hourly rate. As a Premium Nanny with demonstrable baby experience, you can also work as a Maternity and Night Nanny. During the Nanny Academy you will receive pedagogical training from a pedagogue and remedial educationalist. The costs for attending the Nanny Academy are €29.95.

As a Premium Nanny, we also expect you to take the Pediatric First Aid course. You can register for this monthly.

FAQ for nannies

What can I expect from the Nanny Academy?2023-07-28T13:08:30+00:00

During the Nanny Academy, the Nannies receive training from our Pedagogue. The theory is discussed per age category and tips are given on how the Nannies can use this while babysitting. After completing the Nanny Academy, the Nanny can call herself a Premium Nanny and charges a higher hourly rate if she babysits on a fixed day for at least 4 months.

I am following an MBO course or am still in secondary school, can I still register?2023-07-28T12:50:01+00:00

If you have experience working in childcare/a lot of babysitting experience, you can also email us. However, we do apply a minimum age of 16 years. Following a telephone conversation and your CV, we will let you know whether you can come for an interview.

Will I receive a recognized certificate for the Pediatric First Aid course?2023-07-28T13:12:52+00:00

No, together with doctors and doctors in training, we have developed a pediatric first aid course especially for Nannies.

The important and most common home, garden and kitchen accidents are discussed. Various practical exercises are done, such as resuscitation and what to do in case of choking and choking. After completing the course, you will have sufficient basic knowledge and you can start babysitting with confidence.

  • Every Monday I pick up Philip and Anna from school with the cargo bike. Often at least one friend comes along and we all go to the playground in the afternoon. At the end of the afternoon I have to go to hockey training with Philip and I play a game with Anna in the clubhouse or we play hockey together on a field.   • I have been babysitting three children in Amsterdam Center for 2.5 years. I pick them up from school with the cargo bike at 2:45 PM. We usually stay in the schoolyard to play for a while or take friends home with us. On Thursday afternoon I have to go to football training with them. At the end of the afternoon I cook for the children and eat with them. For me it is easy to combine with my working groups in the morning and I like that the days always look different with children.
