EMaking a shoe out of paper is a fun and easy craft activity! Here is a step-by-step guide to making a shoe out of paper yourself, perfect for the Sinterklaas period. Of course, you can also make it with a shoe template (you can find these online).

What you need:

  • A sheet of sturdy paper (e.g. cardboard or thick colored paper)
  • Pair of scissors
  • Glue or tape
  • Pencil and ruler
  • Markers, paint or decorations (optional)

Step 1: Draw basic shape ✍🏼

  1. Start by drawing a shoe on the paper. Use a pencil and ruler to create a rectangular shape for the side of the shoe.
  2. Draw a rounded shape (the toe of the shoe) at the bottom of the rectangle.
  3. Now make the sole by cutting an elongated rectangle. Make sure the shape is slightly larger than the shoe to allow for the sole to be attached.

Step 2: Cutting out the shoe ✂️

  1. Cut along the drawn lines to remove the shoe and sole from the paper.
  2. Cut two strips about 2-3cm wide and about 20cm long for the sides of the shoe.

Step 3: Fold the shoe 👟

  1. Fold the sides of the shoe up to form a box-like shape. This forms the walls of the shoe.
  2. Secure the sides of the shoe with glue or tape.
  3. Attach the sole to the bottom of the shoe by securing it with glue.

Step 4: Decorate 🎨

Now comes the fun part: decorating! Use markers, stickers, glitter or paint to make your shoe pretty. You can draw a picture of Santa Claus or Piet, or just make fun patterns with colors and glitter.

Step 5: Done! 🧡

Your paper shoe is now ready! You can put the shoe by the fireplace, the door or another special place to fill it with goodies on Sinterklaas evening. Have fun crafting and a happy Sinterklaas! 👢🎨
